Unfortunately we do not yet have a drawing for this, so we will talk about it.
The graph starts with two axes:
- Pressure (P)
- Volume (V)
Two isotherms are shown the graph for two different temperatures, T1 and T2.
We see a shape that has four “sides” and is closed. We put the word sides in parenthesis because those sides are all curved–in contrast to being straight line segments.
Two of the curved sides travel on the isotherms. The other two move from one isotherm to the other, with one curve connecting the lower ends of the isotherms and the other curve connecting the higher ends of the isotherms.
