Comparison

There are three binary operations used for comparison:

<,=,>

There is an axiom (haven’t found a name) that for any two real numbers, a and b, only one of the following is true:

  • a < b
  • a = b
  • a > b

If no name is ever found we might informally call this the “Axiom of Comparison”.

If we scan all the math that you do between your freshman year of high school and your senior year of college, we would argue that equality is much more popular than the other two forms of comparison.

However, we created a fiction story wher, in the beginning, people like > better because, if you have more coconuts than needed to pay the boat, when the boat leaves you have coconuts left over that you can apply to the next week.
