Energy

While regarding an experiment that involved both work and heat, Clausius concluded that what was being conserved was neither work nor heat, but a combination of the two. This would later be called Energy.

Energy and Work have the same units, Joules (J).

1 Joule = 1 newton meter

J = Nm

The above is metric. Another system uses kcal or cal.
