Gay Lussac’s Law

\dfrac {P} {T} = k

We have two ways to write this:

  • P=kT
  • T=(1/k)P

Note, since k is a constant and the reciprocal of a constant is also a constant, let k’=(1/k).

Appendix A

If all we did was to tell you that pressure and temperature were proportional one to the other, you could have wrote the following:

T=kP
