Inertia

Objects with mass possess Inertia.

Objects with inertia at rest tend to stay at rest and objects in motion tend to stay in motion.

Both “stay at rest” and “stay in motion” correspond to constant velocity.

It might sound funny at first, but a velocity of zero is a velocity.
