Lines

For our purposes, all lines in this course are straight lines.

For any two points we can calculate a slope. If all the points in a set are on the line then for any two points in that set the slope calculation will be the same every time.

One might ask why call a curved line? Well a parabola is definitely not a straight line, yet a parabola is constructed from points that are connected together. We are taking the convene to sand points connected form a line.

A Wedge Product is used to define a nonparametric equation for a line {x} through point a with direction u:

(x-a) \wedge u = 0
