In the early history of Physics there was confusion regarding Momentum and Kinetic Energy There’s one way this could have been resolved really easily, we will show it to you.

Energy has the units of

N m

Newtons has the units of

\frac{kg m}{s^{2}}

Therefore

Nm = \frac{kg m^{2}}{s^{2}}

Since velocity is m/s, we calculate2 that to get energy we need mass and velocity squared. Momentum, with units of kg m/s, is not an Energy.
