Percent & Parts Per Million

Percent and parts per million are two ways to take small numbers and make them easier to understand or compare.

As a number, half is 0.5 and when we convert it to a percent, we get 50%.

The conversion from a number to a percent is done by taking the number and multiplying it by 100.

For parts per million, this is down by multiplying the number by a million.

Half is 500,000 parts per million.
